How To Ruin A Perfectly Good LGD

I had a "brilliant" idea to make cut out sheep decorations to put out in front of the wool house to decorate for Christmas this year - like the reindeer you frequently see. I've learned though that no good flock of sheep should be without a guard dog, so made a Hank cut out as well.

It took me most of the day to cut, paint and assemble them and it was near dark as we set them out. I still needed to add everyone's ears, so I turned the porch lights on so I wasn't playing pin the ears on the...

"Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof!"

CSL: What on earth is he so upset about?

"Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof!"

ST: I think Hank's barking at Hank!

I went around the corner to look and sure enough he was looking across the driveway, right at the white intruder.

"Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof!"

I walked over and stood by it, tapped on it, patted it...anything I could think of to convince Hank it was okay. He was unconvinced.

I finally had to put him on a leash and let him go check everything out.

I don't even want to know what he was thinking.

Poor Hank.
I'm laughing so hard I have tears. I get to live vicariously through you, because my husband now refuses to allow any in our front yard.
Scratches to Hank for doing such a great job!

I can just imagine that Iris and Weasely were rolling their eyes at poor Hank.

LOVE the sheep cut-outs though, you should sell those if you aren't already!

And you wonder why the other sheep will have nothing to do with poor Hank...

ROTFL! OMG, I can hardly breathe.

If it makes you feel any better, my beagle has a serious case of OCD. Anything out of place and she'll bark for hours. Leave a cabinet door open in the kitchen and she'll bark until you close it, etc., etc. Needless to say when the wind picks up and the corn stalks blow into the yard it gets crazy around here. The sheep figures would never work around here either.

some one just mentioned that her dog is very smart. Your dog is just as smart.

You are very clever - the sheep and Hank look wonderful. Poor real Hank .

Hank is always on the job. Protecting the sheep from even himself! Great idea.

I rolled in the floor laughing and crying over this!!!! I needed that!
Hank isn't ruined--he's just different.
(this from the woman who raised 2calves who thought they were sheep; had the rooster that hung out with the cat and the bunny; raised the calf who thought she was a dog; and raised the goat who knew she was queen of the universe)
So good to see you and Tim both this weekend!

How sweet! And how energetic of you to make all of these critters in one day! I've suggested for years for some reindeer, or maybe a choir of angels, but none have showed up yet!! I may just have to do it myself.

Cudos to Hank for doing his job.:)

Hi, I found your blog by following links. That's hilarious. It reminds me of the Christmas we gave our daughter a life size ceramic cat. We put it under the tree instead of wrapping it and when our own cat first saw it, she freaked out! Finally she got up the nerve to go sniff at it and saw that it wasn't real. We enjoyed the show.

I think Hank was trying to tell the other dog to watch the sheep. Watch. The. Sheep!

That is hillarious.
