Best. Cat. Ever.

I know that many of you would vote for Betsy, but other than baby sitting baby lambs...she's really a pretty naughty cat.  Comby, on the other hand, clocks in hours and hours of solid citizen service.  I saw him sleeping curled up with the sheep planter this evening and tried to take a quick pic.  He saw me and immediately jumped up.

"I'm awake!  What are we doing?  Oh, you're walking all the way out back to check the rams?  Okay, I'm coming."

And away we marched, me, Iris, Weaslie and my trusty cat, Comby, off into the sunset :-).

Aww. Orange tabbies are good too. Um, actually, I guess I never met a cat I didn't like. :)

Thank you for this wonderful photo of Comby & the sheep planter! When I first saw it I got a smile on my face & a lump in my throat at the same time. . . . I too, had a best cat ever orange tabby boy. They are amazing companions, & have such incredible personalities. My Jasper lived to a week before his 19th birthday, & the last 10 yrs. with feline diabetes. He was always so patient when he'd see me get the insulin & needle out of the 'frig. He'd just sit & wait for the shot, & never once complained. He knew it was to help him; I am certain of that. When I had my heart attack 6 yrs. ago he laid on my chest & would not let the paramedics touch me. I had to have my son pick him up, & Jasper just cried & cried. My dear boy passed 5 years ago, & I wear his little I.D. tag on a chain every single day since then. Would you please pet Comby for me, if you would be so kind, & tell him it's from Jasper's mom? Thank you again for the photo, & thank you for your amazing blog. I'm disabled & in bed most of the time, & every post from you is like a breath of fresh air! You will never know how much your blog means to me, so I just wanted to tell you. Kind regards, Lisa in Oregon

Comby IS the sweetest :-) Yet babysitters are needed, too. Great calendar deserving shot of Comby! =^•^=

I love marmalade cats. Comby was a dear - and he is waiting for you across the Rainbow Bridge. Marmalade, Truade, Zoe, Portia, Kashka, and Thorndike are waiting for me. (Of course, that doesn't make it any easier).
